This 20-square-metre garden needed practical ambient lighting without clutter. We designed a fairy light arrangement using 40 metres of warm-white LED string, mapped out safe positioning across existing structures, and sourced weatherproof fixtures rated for year-round UK conditions. The result: a flexible outdoor room that works equally well for summer gatherings and autumn evenings.

Converting a 1920s cottage into a year-round hygge retreat meant respecting its character while modernizing functionality. We identified which original fixtures could be restored and which needed replacing with warm-toned alternatives.
